Cutlery Shrine

In Kyōto, I woke early before my scheduled meetings to walk through the Yasaka Shrine, also known as Gion Shrine. I didn’t have the time to take in every shrine and read about each one. This one made me stop for some reason.

With the Google Lens app I translated the signs to find out what shrine I had stopped at.
I had stopped at the CUTLERY/KNIFE SHRINE - where old knives and cutting instruments are accepted. It also read:

Cut off hardships and open up the future.

I got the message.
