TASCHEN / Strandbeest Digital Experience

Photographer Lena Herzog hired me to as a creative consultant on the launch and exhibition tour of STRANDBEEST: The Dream Machines of Theo Jansen, 2014-2016.

A photography book of kinetic sculptures called for a more immersive experience for both readers and anyone who would not see the sculptures live during their tour. Thus we created created a digital companion to the printed book in e-book form to include videos of the moving sculptures, and expanded photo libraries of Herzog's photographs and Jansen's drawings. This was the first time TASCHEN offered an amplified ebook version of a printed property with exclusive content.

I created a social media strategy aligning the photographer, publisher, artist, sponsors, and museums involved in STANDBEEST's 3-year exhibition tour.

In addition, I developed ideas to promote her book and ebook, one of which was curriculum development. That strategic tactic made it to MIT LEGO Lab - it’s still in the works.
